BMTA PRESENTATION
Our GRC Synergies business was one of the first to be accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to the new version of ISO/IEC 17025 in June 2018. The revised 2017 version was published in December of that year with a 3 year transition period meaning all accredited testing laboratories must have implemented by the end of 2020.
ISO/IEC 17025 is the international standard for the general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories testing a variety of materials and products from such diverse sectors as aerospace, forensics, food, fuel, construction and yes GRC!
The British Measurement and Testing Association (BMTA) have organised a series of events to assist its members who operate over 500 laboratories and test houses to make the transition.
We were delighted our CEO Bob Faulding was invited to present at one such event held at the Buckley 3M Innovation Centre, Huddersfield and pass on our experiences of accreditation to laboratory operators such as Airbus, TUV SUD NEL, BAM Nuttall, Olympus and many others. Fellow speakers included Paul Greenwood (Director of Operations UKAS), Trevor Thompson (Head of Operations Support UKAS), Simon Wood (Autoscribe) and Wai Kong Lee (TUV SUD NEL).
