SALE OF OUR GRCUK BUSINESS
Our GRC manufacturing business Glass Reinforced Concrete UK Ltd (GRCUK) has been sold to the major multinational construction company Laing O’Rourke.
Reflecting the growth of Glass Reinforced Concrete within the architectural cladding sector the sale will see GRCUK integrated into the Laing O’Rourke manufacturing portfolio.
Commenting PBS Synergies Group Director Bob Faulding said “The purchase of GRCUK by Laing O’Rourke will further strengthen the GRCUK brand and allow the company to develop the Design for Manufacturing and Assembly philosophy shared by both the founding shareholders and the new owner.
We realised several years ago that the manufacture of GRC using this approach would be of major benefit in improving both manufacturing efficiencies and allowing easy on-site installation. With Laing O’Rourke proven commitment to DFMA and undoubted financial resource we firmly believe they can grow the company far more than would be possible by the existing shareholders”
GRC Synergies was set up in 2013 to support GRCUK in developing DFMA principles through testing, research and development and design engineering activities. The purchase of our operational business GRC Synergies was not included within the sale and whilst continuing to work together GRC Synergies will now offer its services and expertise to other GRC, Precast and Cast Stone Manufacturers.
The company will remain committed to all the principles upon which GRCUK was built – structured quality management systems, innovative design, engineering and production solutions and above all a passion for GRC.
